Responsibilities
- A multi-disciplined role covering system design of sampling and analyzer skids
- Design of P&ID’s, electrical drawings, General Arrangement Drawings (together with technical draughtsman)
- Calculations of flow dynamics, thermo dynamics and mechanics
- Selection of materials and components
- Assuring the high quality standards and competitive pricing of the systems Defining Technical and functional specifications
- Project planning and execution from initial site survey to commissioning
- Participating in clarification, multi-discipline and Hazop meetings
- Construction of inspection and test plans (together with QAQC), construction schedules and quality assurance plans (together with project manager)
- Planning of resources and materials and assuring deliverables on time within budget (together with project manager)

Task description
As technical specialist, the customer specifications and the quotations send by the sales department will be approved by the engineer for technical feasibility from the start. Pre-design documents can be drafted to clarify the specifications.
During the project phase, the engineer manages the required disciplines by creating and controlling a project plan, involving the different parties, like suppliers, partners, customer and notified bodies, managing the design, construction, assembly, test and commissioning phases of the project. He is the project manager responsible for an efficient fit of all activities and the project progress.
Creating detailed documentation like CAD drawings, electrical and process diagrams, calculations, test procedures and IOM’s will be in the scope of the engineer.
During the construction phase, the engineer will coordinate the deliveries of components of suppliers and will overlook the construction of systems, complying with the designs and required directives.
By setting up a proper test plan, the system can be tested to the specifications initially on the workshop and later on on-site. Testing will be witnessed by the engineer.
From initial quotation until commissioning, the engineer holds a project file containing all required documents for the system meeting the customer requirements and the applicable standards and directives.
Requirements and competences
Knowledge & Education
- BSc in mechanical or electrical (with mechanical experience) engineering
- Basic elements of safety diploma (VCA / SCC)
- Mastery of the Dutch and English language
- Drivers license
Skills
- Practical understanding of pumping, piping, general instrumentation, flow control and basic analyzer principles.
- Familiar with PED, ATEX directive and ASME standards
- Affinity with science and technology
- Analytical, Accurate, punctual, independent and a team player
- Highly experienced with M.S. Office, CAD and calculation / simulation software
- Problem solving attitude, empathy and stress resistant
- Enthusiastic, creative and an instigator
Experience
- Minimal 5 years relevant industry experience, designing electromechanical or piping installations
Tot max. € 7.500,- bruto per maand voor een senior engineer.
